The Imaginary City, Liverpool Childrens Festival includes circus skills, cultural activities, childrens activities and children's entertainment.
The Liverpool Children's Festival is an arts and cultural event For Children and Young People, planned By Children and Young People to celebrate the capital of culture or as it is hailed the Imaginary City. The Liverpool Young Culture Action Group came together in 2000, determined to create a FREE festival including cultural activities, childrens activities and children's entertainment, that would be open and accessible to everyone in the city. There are many exciting things planned including beach style events, community events, circus, summer activities, a funfair, dance performances, music performances, drama performances, cultural performances, dance workshops, music workshops, drama workshops, face painting, pavement art and many more cultural activities, childrens activities and children's entertainment. Lots of organisations are now working with the group to help make it the best festival for Children and Young People in the world, with many well organised cultural activities, childrens activities and children's entertainment. The group, along with their partners, have brought an explosion of activity and creativity to the Museum's District on William Brown Street every year, allowing Children and Young People to get involved in workshops, activities, sports, performances and exhibitions."
"The Future... Next year William Brown Street will be transformed for the day as it is visited by an imaginary city from another universe. The Mayor of this city will be bringing all the advisors in their travelling machine to the St Georges Hall site on William Brown Street for the Liverpool Children's Festival." The Liverpool Young Culture Action Group promise a… "Colourful, extraordinary, fantabulous, stupendous spectacle that will make everyone that joins in feel happy, excited and inspired" (Dale, age 10). There will be plenty of cultural activities, childrens activities and children's entertainment, workshops and performances to fill the day and give Children and Young People the chance to experience and learn new skills. Next year, Liverpool is European Capital of Culture 2008 and the group are planning to create the best festival and best cultural activities, childrens activities and children's entertainment the world has ever seen, with the help of their partners, and hope that all of you can be involved.
